It has taken me a month to get over the fact that I have two one year old boys. Like how?
We celebrated Jack and Cathal’s first birthday in quarantine, it wasn’t ideal but we made a great day out of a bad situation. Turning one to me is a big deal so I had to make it special no matter what situation we were in. Let’s just say a lot of time and effort went into the set up.
We also had a cake smash, which in my opinion was a great idea until it came to scrubbing the blue die from the cakes off the floor.
Coming up to their birthday we realised that being in lockdown with no shops or toy stores open it was going to be difficult to spoil them. But we did it anyway. Amazon was a life saver.

I have found that Amazon is a great place for toys especially when they can be delivered straight to your door. I also have Amazon Prime even quicker.
I was a little unsure of what to get a one year old for their birthday especially when you have to buy double, but I thought these little bits along with some new clothes, some cars, tractors, treats and spending time with mammy and daddy for the day was plenty. They got to see family outside too even under the circumstances.
I hope this might help anyone looking for present ideas in the future.
